I noticed I haven't seen VK2LPC-14 on APRS since October 2023 when Vince arrived at location in Newcastle port area.
I checked his QRZ.com page but nothing mentioned, I hope he is ok.
update on RFI from Northern Beaches Hospital
I wrote last year about tracking and identifying some RFI being emitted from Northern Beaches Hospital in Frenchs Forest, the good news is that it is fixed, I estimate it was fixed in end of January or early February 2024, I can now scan 6metre FM repeaters again wiithout being plagued by the bursts of noise.
Just read that Peter Sturt VK2ZTV from Newcastle passed away last week. He built and ran the 6metre repeater for Newcastle, amongst other ham repeaters, not forgetting his company GenComms. He helped me with some donated gear and cct diagrams to build a 6metre repeater for here
a little bit of history, Tex Morton, apart from being a famous country singer, his hobby was amateur radio.
He lived down Manly/Fairlight, drove a big american sedan back in the 60s/70's
