I missed most of the F1 motor racing this year due to work commitments, but finally throughout December, I been catching up on all of Ted's Notebook updates for 2023 and a few of the F1 races and qualifying. I like watching Ted's Notebook, which for those unknown to it, it is a sports commentary segment from Sky Sports, seen here in Australia on Foxtel, hosted by Ted Kravitz who gives little commentaries for pre and post race as he strolls the F1 racetrack paddock, showing the behind the scenes activities of the race teams and their garages and, seeing a bit of technical stuff, plus race team gossip, I find it fascinating information with impromptu interviews with drivers, team members, team management, and even fans or celebrities who just happen to be in the paddock area.
For me, just to try and comprehend how one organises a F1 race team, have it ready for a race, or qualifying or testing and shipping everything from race track to race track around the world blows my mind, but I still curious to see how things get done. And of course the technical observations of the race car, the team management and operations is fascinating to me.
Some highlights this year, seeing Daniel Riccardo showing off his typical Aussie larakin behaviour joking with Ted in Canada, then race driver George Russell crashing a selfie that Ted was creating in Miami, seeing Las Vegas being used as a street track, Ted crashing the 60 year celebration photo of the McLaren team after a race, the fans on the tracks post race at Silverton singing to Ted, I didnt realise that Ted has such a huge fan base at Silverton. And of course from the Hungarian F1 Ted visited the driver and team manager carpark to review all their personal vehicles, the team drivers and manager drive some real nice cars.
Great show, thanks Ted.
